From Sunday Stealing. Hope everyone has a great week this week!
Do you own a tablet of any kind? What’s something people always assume about you that isn’t true?
I don't own a tablet, between a laptop and a phone I think I'm covered.
On a scale of 1-10, how much do elevators scare you?
Not at all but I do get nauseous from time to time if it's a long elevator ride.
When you’re upset, do you vent to people or do you keep to yourself?
I usually keep it to myself unless it's a good story to share.
Have you ever watched a meteor shower?
I have on several occasions. I even went camping once for the sole purpose of staying up late to watch a shower.
Do you tend to put things off until the last minute?
Sometimes but not often. I'd rather just get something unpleasant over and done.
How do you react to random strangers suddenly trying to make conversation with you?
I don't mind it at all unless they're trying to share the Book of Mormon with me.
Do you have a lucky number?
Not really. If I had to pick I'd go with 32, the number I used for sports growing up.
Would you go out to dinner with Oprah?
Sure, why not? She's paying.
Did you ever play sports?
Basketball and tennis. I excelled at tennis far more than basketball.
Do you feel guilty if you throw food away?
Yep. I really try hard not to waste food, even when in restaurants, away from home.
Do you think you could make it as a baker?
Probably. Baking is the easiest form of cooking for me. Just follow the instructions.
Are you one of those people who are wearing scarves with everything?
Not usually unless it's incredibly cold and then it's actually used and not a fashion statement.
Have you ever been in a castle?
I have, in many. Neuschwanstein Castle is my favorite of what I've seen.
When you were little, did you ever play with Playdoh?
Didn't every child? I'm sure I ate some as well.
Would you rather write a mystery or love story?
A mystery novel as I read more of those.
Tell me about your worst fashion mistake.
I remember wearing suspenders with a belt in high school.
Do you hate it when people smoke around you?
I don't mind it unless it's a really enclosed space.
How are you wearing your hair right now?
Short and a little messy on the top.
When’s the last time you were sick?
Actually a little this week. I've been a little under the weather from what I suspect was from a tetanus shot. My arm has hurt like hell for four days as well.
Would you rather have OJ or milk with your breakfast?
Both! If given only one choice I'd have to go with milk.
What were you doing thirty minutes ago?
Making the bed. Ah that fresh sheets smell!
Do you own any school related clothing articles?
Oklahoma State apparel.
Would you rather call people or have them call you?
Neither. I hate talking on the phone. If pressed I'd rather do the calling. I'm probably not going to answer your call unless you're family or a select few. Sorry/not sorry.
Can you carry a tune?
Only in the shower!
Who was the last person who unexpectedly texted you?
Probably my mom asking why I withdrew so much money from the ATM. She was wanting the other David, my dad.
Who do you text the most?
It's probably close between my husband Dann and my mother.

The "What's Your Story" Meme
From Sunday Stealing again:
1. What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten in public?
Fried Snicker on a stick at the state Fair.
2. If you had to go on an adventure, with elves, dwarves, or hobbits, who would you take and why?
Probably my friend Matt, he looks a lot like Smeagle!
3. You are at a rural retreat lodge somewhere deep in Wisconsin or Canada. You are approached by a taxidermist who hands you a stuffed badger and asks you to put it in your lap. What do you do next?
Hump it?
4. If you were given biscotti, would you prefer it with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
Tea.
5. In your opinion, who is the funniest man or woman alive today?
That's a difficult question. I really enjoy Bill Maher, in fact I'm seeing him tonight!
6. If you were given thirty seconds on television to say something, what would it be?
"Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered!" That or I'd encourage people to worship me and send me money.
7. What is your idea of the most romantic date setting ever?
Why somewhere in Paris of course.
8. If you could go on one date with a movie or television star, who would it be and why?
Chris Pine because he's pretty dreamy and he's Captain Kirk!
9. What is the worst song you have ever heard?
Another difficult one to narrow down but I bet it was made by Toby Keith.
10. If you could live anywhere else, where would it be?
In America definitely Chicago. Abroad I would have to go with Berlin.
11. Who- in your opinion- was the greatest person to ever live?
Besides myself this is way to hard to determine. Isaac Newton? Albert Einstein? Thomas Jefferson? Galileo Galilei? Take your pick.

The Too Tired to Think Meme, Part 1
If it's Sunday, it's Meet the Press... well, in my case it's Sunday Stealing.
Cheers to all of us thieves!
1. You have 10 dollars and need to buy snacks at a gas station. What do you get?
I'm not sure I could spend that much on "snacks" without grabbing a pack of smokes as well. Usually if I'm in a snacking mood at the quickie mart I'll grab a Dr. Pepper and a pack of Sour Skittles.
2. If you were reincarnated as a sea creature, what would you want to be?
A Giant Squid. Then I could feed on sperm. Whales that is.
3. Who’s your favorite redhead?
Why Kathy Griffin of course! Of the people I actually know I'd have to say my bestie Kim.
4. What do you order when you’re at IHOP?
Usually biscuits and gravy with sausage, hash browns, and eggs, sometimes scrambled and sometimes over easy. If the pumpkin pancakes are in season I'll have those too!
5. Last book you read?
The Poet by Michael Connelly.
6. Describe your mood.
Devious.
7. Describe the last time you were injured.
Emotionally or physically?
8. Of all your friends, who would you want to be stuck in a well with?
Probably my friend Justin because he's one of the funniest people I know and he would definitely help pass the time until we were rescued. If we weren't going to be rescued I'd pick my friend Timmy. If I'd have to go cannibal it might as well be Asian for dinner.
9. Rock concert or symphony?
It really depends on the band or the orchestral composition. In general I'd say a rock concert.
10. What is the wallpaper of your cell phone? The number? (We'll just say "hi" - promise.)
There is no wall paper on my phone. My number is 867-5309.
11. Favorite soda?
Dr. Pepper if caffeine is needed and Sierra Mist when it isn't needed.
12. What type of shirt are you wearing?
A muscle shirt.
13. If you could only use one form of transportation?
A train or subway. Unfortunately here in Oklahoma City I'd have to go with a car since our mass transportation is a joke.
14. Most recent movie you have watched in theater?
"The Dark Knight Rises."
15. Name an actor/actress/singer you have had the hots for.
Chris Pine.
16. What’s your favorite kind of cake?
Strawberry cake. I have a killer recipe, email me!
17. What did you have for dinner last night?
Blackened chicken diablo.
18. Look to your left, what do you see?
A framed movie poster. It's Peter Pan from its last theatrical release in the early '90s I believe.
19. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Not always but often.
20. Favorite toy as a child?
This is really hard. I'd have to go with legos or video games (Nintendo).
21. Do you buy your own groceries?
I hate to say it but usually not. I do a lot of pilfering from the RENTS (parents).
22. Do you think people talk about you behind your back?
Of course! Everyone does it.
23. When was the last time you had gummy worms?
I couldn't say.
24. What’s your favorite fruit?
Probably grapes.
25. Do you have a picture of yourself doing a cartwheel?
Not yet but I'll get right on that!

The Imaginary Meme, Last Part
I thought I would participate in Sunday Stealing this week since I actually like the questions. It's been a while...
181. What's the BEST rock band that you have seen live?
Without a doubt Shiny Toy Guns. I'm still pissed we had to give away two of the tickets because a couple of my friends took a powder.
182. Could you image being in a situation where you would run from the police?
I can and I have though not anytime recently. I hauled ass away from a road block once for obvious reasons.
183. Have you ever been asked for an autograph?
Only to sign various court summons!
184. What would you change about your living room?
I would try to find a way to texture over the wallpaper various previous owners started applying around 1930.
185. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
Always a glass. Plastic is so bad for the environment, I'm looking at you bottled water drinkers!
186. Last hug?
My mom or my great-niece.
187. Have you ever had to make up your mind?
I can't decide.
188. What is on top of your refrigerator?
Two candle sticks and a large decorative plate, moved from atop the dining room table.
189. Did it work out for you in terms of kids? (Meaning how did it work out & are you happy. In other words, from “Have none, wanted none” to “8 kids & 3 grand kids).
Yes. I don't want kids nor do I have kids.
190. Are you afraid of the dark?
No, in fact I prefer it when I'm trying to sleep.
191. What if you had three wishes – what would you wish for?
More wishes.
Enough wealth to be comfortable enough to do what I want.
Long lasting and good health.
192. Do you feel sad often?
Sometimes but not often. I'm usually pretty happy if I stay away from mass quantities of refreshing adult beverages.
193. Have you ever been in lust for an extended period of time?
Yes. Chris Pine.
194. Do you shower daily?
Of course. Sometimes twice!
195. Have you ever prank called someone?
Sometimes when I was a kid with friends. Our favorite was the "Devil's number," which turned out to be a number for a modem.
196. If you have a garage, is it cluttered?
I have a garage and it's pretty clean. All hail big trash day.
197. You are about to die. What do you do with your worldly possessions?
Take them with me of course!
198. Tell us about the first time that you bought a car.
It was a million years ago and I was excited that I didn't need a RENT (a parent) to co-sign for me.
199. What is your favorite type of music?
I actually like all kinds of music with the exceptions being heavy rap and modern country.
200. What’s your family like?
In a word: awesome.

The TV Show Meme
Well it's been a while. I'm a very bad blogger! As always from Sunday Stealing.
Before reading the questions: Pick 5 TV Shows you like. They can be past or present. Hint: pick shows that you are REALLY into. Hey! no peaking at the questions! List them:
1. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
2. Futurama
3. Mad Men
4. The Walking Dead
5. Game of Thrones
1. Who is your favorite character in 2?
Philip J. Fry.
2. Who is your least favorite character in 1?
Amazingly no one cast member comes to mind. The ensemble cast of Deep Space Nine not only makes this show a fantastic Star Trek spin-off but a great show on its own.
3. What’s your favorite episode of 4?
Probably the premiere of The Walking Dead. Wake up in the hospital and the whole world has gone to hell? Great start.
4. What is your favorite season of 5?
The first season but it's only three episodes into season two.
5. What’s your favorite relationship in 3?
Don Draper and all of his whores.
6. Who is your anti-relationship in 2?
Bender and Amy hooking up recently. Eww robosexuals!
7. How long have you watched 1?
I've watched the entire series either in first run or on DVD at least three times, some episodes more.
8. How did you become interested in 3?
I really can't remember. I think I liked the premise of an ad agency set in the early 1960's.
9. Who is your favorite actor in 4?
How can all the zombies not be the best actors?
10. Which show do you prefer 1, 2, or 5?
Tough choice. Deep Space Nine > Futurama > Game of Thrones.
11. Which show have you seen more episodes of 1 or 3?
Deep Space Nine definitely but I have both series on DVD.
12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Once again I have to go with being a zombie. I love brains!
13. How would you kill off any character in 5?
Just as they did in the novels, unexpectantly.
14. Would a 3/4 crossover work?
Probably not since they take place fifty years apart.
15. Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.
They actually already did this with Major Kira and Odo.
16. Overall, which show has the better cast, 3 or 5?
Very hard decision. I'd probably go with Mad Men slightly over Game of Thrones.

A few, nothing too severe.

I think my decade, the '80's, was pretty cool.
29. Favorite shoes you have EVER owned?

Peaches.
35. Favorite fruit?
I really like peaches but since they make my throat close up I'll go with grapes or pears.

I think either would be truly tragic but I think I would have to go with being left deaf though I would miss music dearly.

Hang up my keys on the wall near my door.

Someplace that isn't solidly a "red state" in Presidential elections.
32. Who is the person you can count on the most?
The Rents (parents).
33. If you could date any celebrity past or present, who would it be?

Nothing, I was so exhausted that I had a dreamless night.
35. What is your favorite sport to watch?
College football.
36. Are you named after anyone?
My dad and I guess his father before him.

39. Have you ever been in love?
A couple of times, it was a waste of time.

42. What is your favorite Holiday?
Arbor Day.
43. Would you ever get plastic surgery?

Dear Diary, I Named an Elephant Today...
From W.T.F Weekly Meme.

1) Next week is my 30th birthday, but I'm boycotting it because I am not ready to leave my 20's behind. What has been the toughest birthday for you so far?
My toughest birthday was 31. The realization had finally sunk in that I was in my 30's! 40 is just around the corner. Yay!
2) In general, what is your favorite ride at an amusement park?
I really don't like amusement park rides. I have visions of flying off the rails on a roller coaster ala Final Destination 3. I'm going to ride some today at the Fair since my niece left me a bunch of tickets she had left over from her trip there.
3) Recently the Oklahoma City Zoo held a contest to name its newest elephant baby. With today (Sept. 22) being Elephant Appreciation Day, what would you name an elephant if you could name one?
Stampy! From a great Simpsons episode when they had a pet elephant. Can anyone even remember when that show was good?
4) On Sept. 22, 1920, the Band-Aid was invented. What is something you wish you could cover up with a Band-Aid?
Sally Kern's mouth?
5) Other than gasoline, what do you frequently purchase at a gas station?
Smokes, Dr. Pepper, and of course Giant Chewy Sweet Tarts.
6) If you had to eat only three different foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?
This is a tough one! Cereal, soup, and some kind of fish course.
7) Today (Sept. 22) is Dear Diary Day. Finish this sentence: "Dear Diary, I wish I knew ..."
I wish I knew back then what I know now...
8) Would you rather have children and make a decent salary or have no kids and make a great salary?
Not a fan of children so I'd have to go with a great salary. Besides can you even afford to raise kids on a "decent salary?"

Monday Mayhem
I keep meaning to participate in this meme and I always seem to forget. Not today! Click on the picture below to check out the site.

What's the best way to get rich?
Hard work and dedication! Oh screw that, playing the lottery.
Have you ever eaten anything that you once saw alive?
The only thing that comes to mind would be lobster and oysters.
What creeps you out the most about clowns?
The fact that someone would choose being a clown as a profession.
Tell us your best or favorite garage sale or flea market find.
Nothing. I don't go to garage sales or flea markets. Strike that, I used to go to a flea market here in Oklahoma City when I was 19 that had a bar in the back. I just went to drink because they didn't try to ID me.
Who should get slapped on the wrist today?
I'm not sure about a slap but I sure would like to punch Sally Kern in the face.
What do you need to accomplish this week?
I need to get my dining room prepped so I can paint the walls and woodwork.
What's your best tip for online shopping?
If you can't get free shipping forget about it.
This was pretty random. Can you tell us something really random to end this week's meme with?
My boy Mario is always watching out for me when I'm at my desk.

How to Use the F Word
I have an affinity for tee shirts, especially when I travel. I don't feel complete unless I come back with something to wear back in Gooberville. A good example would be the Blackhawks shirt I bought in Chicago last October. Am I a hockey fan? Nope but damn if I didn't love the mascot on the tee shirt.

Of course the more offensive the shirt the better. In my last adventure to New York I got a cheesy shirt in Chinatown, in fact one of only two items I brought back with me from the trip (the other was a Super Mario 1UP Mushroom beanie from Mecca, aka The Nintendo World Store at Rockefeller Plaza, which is quite the schnizzle). The shirt was labeled "How to Use the F Word" and listed the following:
1. Dismay - Oh! Fuck it.
2. Aggression - Fuck you.
3. Passive - Fuck me.
4. Command - Go fuck yourself.
5. Incompetence - He's a fuck-up.
6. Laziness - He's a fuck-off.
7. Ignorance - He's a fucking jerk.
8. Trouble - I guess I'm fucked now.
9. Confusion - What the fuck?
10. Despair - Fucked again.
11. Philosophical - Who gives a fuck?
12. Denial - You ain't fucking me.
13. Rebellion - Fuck the world.
14. Annoyance - Don't fuck with me.
15. Encouragement - Keep on fucking.
16. Etiquette - Pass the fucking salt.
17. Fraud - I got fucked by my insurance agent.
18. Difficulty - I can't understand this fucking business.
19. Identification - Who the fuck are you?
20. Ugliness - You're a dumb looking fuck.
21. Agreement - You're fucking right.
22. Benevolence - Don't do me any fucking favors.
I wore the shirt this morning at the butt crack of dawn to meet my dad for coffee at Starbucks. Unfortunately it was covered by my hoodie due to the cooler weather Zeus has bestowed upon us lately. Thus I was unable to offend anyone.
Of course the coolest tee shirt of all time can be found here.

You Know You're From Oklahoma If...
I'm sitting here hoping the rain will subside so I can make a trip to the State Fair and eat something, anything, fried on a stick! You know the State Fair is going on in Oklahoma City because it's fucking raining.
Speaking of "you know" phases, here's another list I found online this morning on how you know you're from Oklahoma. It's a little longer than the other list I posted on this blog as my first post ever.
Though many of the items on this list are indicative of life in Oklahoma, a lot of them could be swapped with another state in the south or Bible Belt.
You know you're from Oklahoma if...
You say ya'll... many times a day.
Bedlam is a BIG deal.
You can tell when it's tornado weather.
When you drive through a neighborhood anyone out walking will smile and wave at you. You've worn flip flops in the winter.
You have stopped to let a family of deer cross the road.
You thought the twister ride at Universal Studios wasn't windy enough.
You know who your neighbors are, how many children they have, and when one of them gets married or graduates.
There are at least 2 to 3 Sonics, McDonald's, and Little Caesar's in your town. You've been off roading - many times.
You or someone you know was born, raised and still lives in the same town.
You know that Miami, Oklahoma and Miami, Florida are pronounced two different ways. You plan events around football games.
You are a Cowboy or Sooner fan.
You learned how to do country and western dances at school.
A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel. You can properly pronounce Eufaula, Gotebo, Okemah and Chickasha.
You can remember the name of the last state legislator to introduce a bill involving castration, and he didn't mean farm animals.
You know exactly what calf fries are, and eat them anyway.
You think that people who complain about the wind in other states are sissies.
It doesn't bother you to use an airport named for a man who died in an airplane crash.
You have owned at least one belt buckle bigger than your fist.
A bad traffic jam involves two cars staring each other down at a four-way stop, each determined to be the most polite and let the other go first.
It doesn't seem odd to see the term "chicken fried chicken" on a menu.
You save all your life for your dream vacation, and use it to go to the OU/Texas game.
It doesn't seem peculiar if your sweetie says "I'm going in to town for something" even though you live in town.
You don't turn on the news until 20 minutes past the hour, because that's the only thing you care about anyway.
Your quarterback is hurt and it is the top story on the six o'clock news.
You keep track of the grain and hog futures on the radio.
You don't buy all your vegetables at the grocery store.
You go to the State Fair for your only vacation.
You get up at 5:30 A.M. and go to the coffee shop, where the waitress never asks what you would like. She already knows.
You are on a first name basis with the county sheriff.
You think that using the elevator involves a corn truck.
You can drive 80 mph on a two-lane dirt road with one hand, but driving 45 mph on a four-lane expressway in a city scares you to death.
You use manure on your grass instead of Weed and Feed.
Your nearest neighbor is in the next zip code.
You know the difference between feed corn and sweet corn... while it's still on the stalk.
You wear cowboy boots to church.
You know that everything goes better with Ranch.
You learned how to shoot a gun before you learned how to multiply.
"You wanna Coke?" "Yeah." "What kind?" "Dr. Pepper."
You know what "Orange Power" and "Crimson & Cream" means.
You actually get these jokes and are fixin' to send them on to other friends from Oklahoma.
Anyone out there from another state want to share a similar list?

The 20 Questions of Doom Meme
As always, courtesy of Sunday Stealing.
Cheers to all of us thieves!
1. Do you believe in Heaven?
I do not. As I've said many times on this blog I don't suffer from that particular mental illness.
2. Have you ever come close to dying?
Not that I'm aware of, though I did have an interesting experience with a freight elevator once.
3. What jewelery do you wear 24/7?
None. I wear a watch but not 24/7.
4. Would you ever consider having plastic surgery?
Maybe. Botox or something along those lines.
5. What do you wear to bed?
It varies. Usually I fall asleep in my clothes on the sofa. If I actually drag myself to bed I go with a tee and underwear.
6. Have you ever done anything illegal?
Sure. Hasn't everyone?
7. Who was the last person that you touched?
Dann.
8. Where did you eat last?
Mexico Joes yesterday in Stillwater.
9. Besides your own blog, are there any that you routinely read but never comment on?
Yes, often. I lurk around many blogs.
10. Ever been involved with the police?
I've never dated a policeman. Was that the question?
11. Do you talk in your sleep?
I've been told that I do on occasion.
12. Now a celebrity fantasy. Who would you take on a ménage à trois for a dirty weekend?
This is an oddly placed question.
13. Do you feel that you’ve had a truly successful life?
Not really but I'm working on it.
14. Where do you wish you were?
Chicago or New York City.
15. Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?
Never.
16. Is there any type of dancing that you love to do?
I like to two-step and waltz but I don't know if I would characterize it as love.
17. Last gift you received?
I can't remember. Books from my mother maybe.
18. Last sport you played?
Beer pong.
19. Last place you went on holiday?
New York City last month.
20. Current Song?
"Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People.
Cheers to all of us thieves!

The Heaven Eleven Meme
It's been a while since I participated in Sunday Stealing so I thought I would get an early start and post my answers today. I know my blog is slowly dieing but I'm just not feeling it lately. It seems that Facespace has been a better venue lately to be snarly. That and I'm still shell shocked to be back in the south...
Cheers to all of us thieves!
1. If you could live in any other time period, which would you pick?
Between the two great wars, the 1920's, either in America or Europe. I'm fascinated by this time in history.
2. What is your favorite topic to write on your blog other than a meme?
Nothing really, I just write about what interests me at any particular time. If I had a theme it would be more empty than it already is around here.
3. What are some traits that you admire in a lover?
I like eyes and smiles and also someone who is clean.
4. Could you adjust to life in another country?
Absolutely, especially in Europe. I'd totally settle in Berlin if I had the money to move there.
5. If you could study anything, what would it be?
Quantum physics.
6. What is your favorite possession that cost less than $15?
I'm quite fond of my Oklahoma State iPhone protector that has Pistol Pete on it.
7. Which color do you wear most often?
Off the top of my head I would have to say blue.
8. What has been your “theme song”, or favorite song this summer?
"Hello," "Just Can't Get Enough," or "Take Over Control." All these songs remind me of time in Chicago or Louisiana this summer.
9. What's the most romantic thing that's ever been said to you?
Nothing. A close second would be "who is this?"
10. What would be your dream birthday cake?
I'm not a big fan of cake especially from bakeries, usually they're shitty. My mom makes a pretty decent strawberry cake though.
11. What is the coolest thing you’ve ever done?
That's a tough question. Traveling is the coolest thing I can think of off the top of my head. I was an exchange student in German when I was 17, that probably counts as travel.
